Cant rename vba controls

Currently I am trying to build a form in VBA using excel. I am running it on
G5 and MAC OSX 10.4.6
Whenever I rename a control on a form and run the form it crashes and the
control disappears. I think this has something to do with the pdf add in.
Does anyone know the fix for this problem and how I might remove the pdf add
I permanently?

I'm not sure why the PDF add-in would interact with your userform, but
you can use this technique to remove the PDF toolbars permanently:
