Can't reopen Outlook 2003 in the same session

If I open my Outlook 2003 account and then close it, I
can't reopen Outlook unless I logoff, restart, etc.

I was doing a how-to doc and created a few fictitious
profiles for screen shots but deleted all of them. I've
checked everything I could think off to see if I might
have inadvertently changed some of my settings but found
nothing.

I appreciate any help.
