can't resize messages i outlook

Whenever I open or send a message I am only able to see
it in the 'maximize' view,the 'restore down' boxes
appear,but the window stays big,it only happens in
outlook and it is veeeeeery annoying!..can anybody help?

Check to see if your restored window size hasn't been dragged to make the
window the full screen size. You can resize by dragging the bottom right
hand corner. It sounds too simple an answer to be the correct one but worth
a try.
