I was using Outlook 2002 with Exchange 2003 and I made extensive use of the
Tasks folder. I have recently returned to Outlook 2000 on the same network
using the same Exchange 2003 email box. The computer where I used OL2002 had
WinXP. This computer with OL2000 runs Win2k.
The problem is that I can no longer save a new task. I open a new task form
and when I try to save it I get the error, “Could not complete the operation.
One or more parameter values are not valid.†I can open an existing task,
edit it, and resave it, but I can’t add any new tasks.
I have opened an old and a new task form and examined them side-by-side but
I was not able to see any settings that were different. I thought it might
have to do with the Palm Desktop and Chapura Pocket Mirror software I use to
sync my Palm III, so I uninstalled them both. I turned off Word as my email
editor. I searched the Microsoft Knowledge Base and got 5 hits for that
error, but none of them addressed the Task folder. I checked the Category
list but couldn’t find any entries with invalid names. I also ran "Detect and
Repair" from the Help menu.
Does anyone have any idea what’s going on here???
Thanks,
- Jeff
