Can't Save any office product document(s).

Steve

Background: This is the second time getting this 'virus' regarding
Office. When trying to save either a new document or changes to an
old document the error "Can't save document...something about
permissions....blah blah blah". When trying to uninstall Office XP we
get a permissions error, the Program Files directory is set to
read-only. In addition we can't reinstall because of the same reason.
The user account has Admin rights and we have plenty of drive space
left. In addition when I change the read-only parameter it completes,
then reverts to read-only again next time I check the properties.

System: windows 2k server with latest sp
Office XP with latest sp
Norton Antivirus
Zone Alarm

The closest thing I found was a blurb about a common virus with school
systems but I can't find the description anymore.

I don't know what kind of virus this is, how it got by Norton, nor how
to fix it. Last time I cleaned the drive and reinstalled everything
from scratch, I would rather not do this is possible.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be or how to clean it? If
more information is needed I can response with whatever else is
needed.

Thanks for any info you can provide
Steve
