Can't save except in My Documents.

When I click on Save In Drop Down Word and Excel lock up and stop responding.

Paint and other non-office products work as expected and let you browse to
another location

Any ideas on what may be wrong would help. I tried re-installing office but
that did not change the issue.

Do you have any of the other symptoms listed in this article?

You may experience problems in Windows Explorer or in the Windows shell
after you install security update MS06-015
