I have an Access 97 database that several users use. One
of these users, who is running Access 2000, receives an
error message when they run a certain query. This message
reads "function is not available in expression query
expression".
After posting this question to this user group I received
feedback that said I should refresh the references. I did
this by going into references, selecting a reference, then
I went back into references and unselected the reference
that I just selected. I ran the query again and it worked.
However when I opened the database again and ran the query
I received the same error message as before. So I again
refreshed my refrences and this took care of the problem.
Why do I have to refresh my refrences each time I open the
database? How can I make the database save my refrences
after I refresh them?
The shared database is an Access 97 database and the user
in question is accessing it using Access 2000. Also the
database file is ReadOnly. Users only run queries on the
database, they don't input information into the database.
I greatly appreciate the help. Thanks.
