Hello All,
I'm having trouble with users successfully scheduling
resources in Outlook 2003. Our server environment is
Windows 2003 Server running Exchange 2003 Server. I have
created user accounts for the resources in Active
Directory users and computers. I have logged into the
account for the resource, started Outlook, and set up the
account as a resource. In addition, I have given Owner
permissions for the Calendar and Inbox to the security
group that would need access to the folder.
This security group is actually an Organizational
Unit group called CE - Users who is a member of the
regular Users group. This OU group contains all the users
who will access the resource (as well as public folders
within Exchange). In addition, I am trying to book the
resource via an appointment on a shared calendar in a
public folder which also gives Owner access to the CE -
Users group.
When I attempt to book a resource through a calendar
appointment I actually get two dialogs:
The first states "Responses to this meeting request will
not be tallied because this meeting is not in your main
Calendar folder. Is this Ok?"
Clicking OK to this brings up the second dialog:
"The object could not be found. Unable to directly book a
resource for this meeting."
I have previously set this up in an Outlook 2000 /
Windows 2000 Server / Exchange 2003 Server environment
successfully using the same process as above so i'm
thinking it might have something to do with Windows 2003
Server security or the Outlook 2003 client. If anybody
has any suggestions for either of these two issues it
would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
