Can't see Critical Path (MP'07)

Why when I put a milestone date as the last task in my project can I not see
the critical path? Nothing is linked to this milestone. It's just an
important date I want to show in the Gantt. If I remove it or move it to the
day after the last task the critical path will show.

Sounds like you have a constraint on the milestone?

The Critical Path are those tasks with a float of 0. If you put a milestone
at the end of the project, then that adds slack to the task preceding it....and
as a result the Critical Path won't calculate.

The Critical Path is a good place to start with the schedule, but once it's
been identified, the addition of key buffers will serve to kill the CP calculations.
Resource Leveling will also kill the CP calculations.
