cant see grid lines in design view

I was developing a form and having a problem with check boxes - trying to
change the default so it appeared as a blank box instead of grayed out.....
now I have lost my grid lines and cant seem to get them back :-(

I wish I had the old access

Regarding your gridlines, with the form in design view, right click on the
body of the form and select gridlines from the drop down menu that appears.
This is a toggle so repeating will remove them again.

regarding the check boxes, I cant seem to get mine into the condition of
being Greyed out? Are you using tripple state?
