can't see what I'm going to print

Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel I have 24 page workbook and only need to print a small section. But the text in the print preview is too small to see. zoom is greyed out.
My printers previw is even worse. what can one do? thanks.

The first thing to keep in mind is that Print Preview is not intended for
proofreading or editing content. It's only purposes are page layout/print
related. It enables you to see how the content fits the page based on your
Page Layout settings, etc.

The magnifier (Zoom) only functions if the window is not large enough to
display a full page of content. You can scale the window down, then use the
magnifier if you wish.

Additionally, if you select the area to be printed then go into the Print
dialog & choose the 'Selection' option you can then click the Preview button
there to preview it full size using Apple's Preview app.
