Cant send attachments, have Ipod & I tunes

I installed my Ipod Drivers and Itunes Software. Now I cant send attachments
with Excel or Word. I have windows XP with service pack 1. I can go to my
outlook and create an email, then attach my file, but I cant use word or
excel to send to a mail recipient. When I try, you cannot click on the send
button. Please Help!!!
