Can't send attachments

Before I installed Office 2003 I had no attachment problems. Since, I've
had to FTP files to my site, then provide the recipient a link.

We're talking jpegs, and *.xls files. A jpeg of 24k and an xls file of some
60k in the last few days -- so they're not terribly large files.

I'm on a dialup connection and use McAfee Internet Suite 6 (which I totally
disabled moments ago to see if that would help).

Okay, I just noticed someone else posted the same question and the reply was
for the person asking for help to send more details. The person didn't
reply so here are all the details I know in my case:

At the bottom field, "Sending message 1 of 1, and next to that, a yellow
folder displaying action.
I am on a dialup conn. and my modem lights do not display green, signifying
there is nothing being received or transmitted.
There appears a new icon in my bottom task tray, far right. When I mouse
hover it reads "Microsoft Office Outlook is synchronizing files"
In the popup task window under tasks: "pop3.arkansas.net -- sending"
Under the errors tab there are none.
After 10 minutes I hit "Cancel task" button.

My son just stepped me through a McAfee setting and it worked. Sorry for
the bother.
