Cant send email in Outlook 2007

I am unable to send any email in outlook 2007. I can receive just fine, but
everything sits in my outbox.

I KNOW I have the correct servers listed. I am using Charter Communications
as my ISP, and their servers are mail.charter.net

Any ideas?

There is an error message. It says the remote server didnt respond or
something like that.

This appears to be a common issue regarding some ISPs and Microsoft. I think
my ISP may be blocking certain ports and traffic originating off network. I
will call them and wade through their crappy tier 1 support to get to someone
who has the answer. Oh the fun!!!

Disable your Anti Virus integration . In other words disable the incoming and outgoing email scanning

That's always worth a try but... FWIW, I've used AVG with email
scanning enabled since Windows 98 and never had a problem with either
Outlook or Pegasus Mail. I understood email scanning was more of a
problem with OE than with other email clients, don't know if that's
true or not.
