Can't send mail: error 0x80042109

Ingo Stiller

Hi Freaks

For a few weeks, I couldn't send emails :-(
The error message is "Error 80042109 Outlook is unable to connect to
your
outgoing SMTP server"

So I did ask GMX, G-DATA, my internet provider, ... but no one can
tell what's going on.
GMX told me to switch of the (Window) firewall, no result.

Then I start the (windows) firewall logfile and got this:

Clearly you have a network issue, not an Outlook one. Ask in a networking
grop for the version of Windows you're using.

I'm having the same issue. I have contacted my ISP provider who says
everything checked out OK, my computer mfg. who said everything checks out OK
and McAfee who said everything checks out OK. They all suggest that it is a
Outlook 2007 problem. Please help.

Can't be the same issue. The OP said that the problem happens with
Thunderbird as well and that he's seeing network packet drops. Start your
own thread and give all the symptoms you see, including your Outlook version
and account type as well.

Hi Brian

All of them I did asked also mean, that it is a Outlook problem :)
Then I did my one investigation and found the DROPs.

Now I'm looking for a newsgroup which could help.
On "microsoft.public.windowsxp" no one did answer, so I have to ask
another group.

Possibly microsoft.public.windowsxp.network_web
