can't send messages using outlook connector

I had successfully set up Outlook to connect to 2 MSN Premium Accounts using
the Outlook connector. After using it a while I could download messages from
my acounts successfully but I was unable to send messages. The outgoing
messages go to the Outbox in my personal folders and then stay there. They
don't get sent. Is there a fix or settings change to correct this? Thanks.

The Outlook Connect add-on requires:
- Outlook 2003 or 2007.
- Using the Live Hotmail interface (not MSN).

Is there an option in your MSN Premium account to convert it to a Live
Hotmail Plus account? If so, and since POP/SMTP access was returned
back in Nov 2007 for Live Hotmail PLUS accounts (not for MSN accounts),
you wouldn't need the add-on.
