Can't share the database

J

JaeRae

I've followed all the instructions for sharing a database to the T. But when
I go to another computer on the network and try to get it to connect to my
computer it says Verification of your remote user account on computer JaeRae
has failed. Your remote account is disable or your remote account is locked
out, or the remote database has not been marked as shared. What do I do?
Also what are the conflicts with the email linking if shared? Does that
mean that if we receive an email it won't be linked to an account?

One thing that might block connecting to the database PC would be a
third party firewall. The Sharing Wizard in BCM only opens the port in
Windows' own firewall.

Also, the machines may not "see" each other. Can you share folders
between the two machines?

I've turned off the firewalls and yes we can see each other, I've used dos
and pinged each computer and we can still share from my shared docs.

Yeah I haven't gotten a reply yet. After long hours of troubleshooting here
is what I'd suggest. Make sure that all the names are correct, on both
machines, make sure that all the computer are in the same work group. I
think that should do it.
