Can't start Word

I have MS Office 2000 Premium SP-2 and I can't start Word. I get the
following application error:
The instruction at 0xffff0002 referenced memory at address 0xffff0002. The
memory could not be read.

Any help?

Thanks garfield. I was able to get Word to load by running "winword.exe /a" as recommended by your link but still unable to FIX the problem. Will keep at it.

With Word _not_ running, rename normal,dot to something else, say
normal.do!. Then restart Word normally.
