can't Switch Identity while Word is running!

it is months that I try to find a workaround...

I have many Entrourage Identities, but I cannot Switch from one to the
other while other Office apps are running:

Error: "To switch identities, quit all Microsoft Office programs and
try again."

so boring...

any hint?

boring, perhaps, but it would be much more confusing if you started a
session of Word suggesting a set of contacts, only to have a different
set of contacts suggested later when an identity switched.

Since Word links to the Entourage database, there's no workaround - you
have to quit.

On the other hand, why have many Entourage identities? You can access as
many separate email accounts as you want using one identity and use
Rules to sort the mail from each account into different folders so it
doesn't get mixed up. For instance, I have about 23 different email
addresses on 16 different mail servers that are picked up in my main
identity. I have one other identity just for testing.

Then you wouldn't have to worry about having other apps open. And you
wouldn't be bored by having to switch identities.
