can't type french words on office but can with excel

I am having trouble typing french words using office. Have tried various
suggestions, but none work. I can type the words on excel and on microsoft
works.

I think we need more information here - can you provide specific
details?? Which application specifically are you referring to? (Excel
is part of Office) What version of Office are you using?

What word(s) are you trying to type? Do they display on the screen? Or
is it a matter of seeing them marked as spelling errors?
