can't uninstall trial office standard 2007

I have the Trial Office Standard 2007 version on my pc. I do not want to
convert it to the full version (costs too much for me). But I bought the CD
of just the Outlook 2007 and want to use that.
I was told I needed to uninstall the Trial Standard suite before I could
install the new Outlook or there would be problems.
I went through the uninstall process -- went to Add or Remove Programs, hit
Remove, it went through the uninstall process, I rebooted. BUT the trial
version is still listed as a current program in the Add or Remove Programs
list. When I click Remove, nothing happens. When I try to open and use the
trial Outlook, it won't open and says I have a patch error.
How do I get rid of the Trial version Standard suite so I can put on Outlook??

Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately it didn't work. When I tried to
Uninstall as instructed in the article, I got an error message that the patch
package could not be opened. I've already tried following the article for
how to use the Windows Installer Cleanup to fix the patch error message, but
that didn't help.
I just want to be able to install Outlook 2007 from the CD, but it won't do
it, I guess because I haven't uninstalled the Trial Office 2007.

Any other thoughts would be really really welcome.

I haven't tried this solution yet as I have to vacate my office for
some remodeling that's about to take place, but here's what I found the
site at 'Advanced Outlook Repair - Powerful Outlook recovery tool. PST
repair tool.' (http://www.datanumen.com/aor/).

You need to follow the entire KB article
The kb Installer Clean Up article states specifically 'do not use for Office
2007'

You're right that Office 2007 is not listed on the "applies to" list, but I
didn't see anything that said 'do not use for Office 2007". In any event,
the other KB article for manually uninstalling Office 2007 didn't work. So
I'm still left without a solution and would really appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks. I took a look at that, but it seems to refer to repairing corrupt
Outlook files. My problem isn't with outlook files though. I need to
uninstall Office 2007, so I can install the new Outlook.

If the KB that DL posted did not work then I have bad news for you. You are infected
with some sort of malware\virus\trojan vundo. Either try and clean it up or the best
I can suggest to you is to do a clean reformat of your computer after saving your
needed data files and etc.

Peter -- thanks. I do have a hopefully clean backup that I made of my C
drive. (I use Acronis True Image for that.) If I use the Restore program
from Acronis, will it restore the Office 2007 even though that was a Trial
version?

(I've never done a Restore before of my C drive, so I'm a little hesitant.)

Thanks.
