Can't Upload Website

Dave Galluzzo

Hi everyone and please forgive me if I'm to long winded or
I am asking this in the wrong area but I have trouble
shooting question and I'm perplexed. I have used FrontPage
98 forever and have never upgraded. I recently created a
website found a host (who I have used before with no
problems)and tried to upload my site and I keep getting an
error message that says either: Client closed connection
or Server error - Authors if authoring against a webserver
please contact the webmaster for this server's site.
webmasters please see the server's system log for more
details. - I have recently switched from dial-up to a
cable modem but that's all that has changed. I talked to
the cable company and they say everything is fine on their
end and the Host says it's not a problem on theirs. I
thought maybe my version is so obsolete that the server
extensions might not be supported. Do you have any idea of
what may be going on and what I can do to correct it, Any
help would be greatly appreciated.

If the host is Unix/Linux based and running the latest version of the FP2002
extensions, then you can not use FP98 to connect to or publish, you either
have to upgrade to FP2000, FP2002 or FP2003 (requires Windows 2000 or Window
XP) or you have switch to a Windows IIS based web host if you want to still
keep on using FP98.
