Can't view source

D

DianaH

I tried to view the source code (from the pc I'm at right
now) of a site that I created and I know that it's not
protected. Nothing happens. Is this a FrontPage or an
Internet Explorer setting?

Any thoughts? Thanks.

You are using frames.
When I view source, I see the general frames page, which does not show
content of the other pages.

When I right click on the framed pages, I see the content.

So ... why can't I view it with the computer I'm at. I
can't see the source of any sites. When I right click to
view source ... nothing, alsolutely nothing happens.

Hey Wes, in Hawaii ... it snowed 3 hours north of us -
winter's slowing coming ... I hope you are enjoy wonderful
weather. I've been there and know it has great weather.

Ok, that good.

Is IE set to check for new pages each visit to a page?

are you trying to view-source inFrontpage or in your browser?

Have you
1) clicked the tab labled "HTML View" (or equivalent)
2) rightclicked in the browser and selected "View Source" (or equivalent) or
3) from the VIEW menu, selected "View Source" (or equivalent)

??

that shouldn't matter - about the frames - if you click in the "main" frame you
should see the source for the "main" page, or the "top" frame or "menu/side"
frame

at least that is the way I can view the source of your page.

Hi all,
Thanks for all your suggestions.
Does this help? I can view the source from my home pc (in IE - of course),
but when I checked from the pc at work, nothing happened. It doesn't say it
can't view ... it simply does nothing ... no response ... and it doesn't
matter what site I visit ... I get the same results. Maybe it'll be one of
those unsolved mysteries! I almost consider removing - then reinstalling IE
on that pc. It appears to work fine in every other way.
