Can't write in new Task field

M

maitakeboy

In Tasks, I went to customize the current view and added the "Requested by"
field. It shows up in the view, but I cannot type in it, even though the
formatting is text, and I can't find it anywhere on the individual task
window. What am I doing wrong? I am using Outlook 2000.
Thanks for any help!

You're doing nothing wrong. That's a read-only field that you can't enter
data into.

I think that field is read only and is set when a Requested Task is sent to
you.

The field content is only ever generated by using the Assign Task function.
If your boss Assigns a Task to you and you accept it, the boss' name will
appear in the Requested By field. Conversely, if you Assign a Task to your
assistant, the Owner field will have their name in it as you gave it to them
to do.

You can't type data into the Owner or Requested By fields.
