Capacity Measure in Data Analysis

We have a time reporting mandate and I would like to show the
percentage of time reported for each resource for a given period. I
can get a rough estimate by using the calculated measure: Actual
Work / Capacity. However, the Capacity measure is not accurate.

The Capacity should vary based on hire date. On an annual report, a
resource that has been with the company for six months should show
about 1000 hours of capacity, rather than the 2000 that displays in
the Capacity measure for that timeframe.

I see that Capacity can be adjusted by altering Max Units, but doesn’t
seem like a good option to edit Max Units for hundreds of resources.

Any thoughts on how I could produce this report, preferably as a Data
Analysis view would be appreciated.

Hi there ,

Have you tried using specific resource calendars ? There is a setting
in the server settings page where you could specify where a resources
"full time " should be calculated from, just make sure "resource base
calendar" is selected.

Thanks Andre,

I figured out that resources have an available from and available to
date which were not entered in our environment. The Capacity measure
is limited by these dates. The only problem is that it appears that
once a resource goes inactive, these dates are not available to edit
in the resource properties page. So I can easily edit the hire dates
for active resources, but will have to figure out how to edit these
dates for inactives.
