Capture an environment variable

Is there a simple way of capturing an env ironment variable, such as %MyVar%
and write it to a text box on a form?

There is, in fact, no way to capture an environment variable in a web page.
You could, I suppose, write an ActiveX control, insert it into a page, and
hope that the user has low security settings and/or will accept the ActiveX
control in their web page. But that is unlikely.
