Capture today's date

Hello,
I would like to add the date that a viewer enters data into a form, but I
don't want the date to be an input field. Is there some way to get the
current date and add it to the saved fields list?

I wasn't sure it would actually make a saved field, but a simple test
confirmed that it did.
