Capturing Users ID

Is it possible for me to capture in a field who created an entry. I want to
capture the UserID of the individual performing data entry on items or
modifying data. Is this possible, if so, HOW?

If you have set up User Level Security (ULS) in the database, you can use
the CurrentUser() function to determine the current user.

If you are not using ULS, you can use the code found here to determine
the network login:
