Gee Diane, that's really kind of you. I am a contributor to the Apple
Discussion Forums and it would never, ever, occur to me to offer my services
for pay. I work with posters until their problems are solved, or I have
reached the limits of my expertise. I do not ever offer help for pay. I was
under the impression that this particular board was a peer-to-peer forum, not
a place to troll for paying customers. I am grateful to those who have tried
to help me here and hope that someone out there can provide me with a
solution.

If you think you can solve my problem if I pay you, but don't have the
patience to help me gratis, then I would suggest that you not post here at
all.

This is indeed a peer-to-peer forum, and Diane, Adam, and I have offered you
considerable help for no charge. We are sorry that none of our suggestions
work, but this appears to be a complex problem to solve.

Diane has a life outside this forum, and I find it reasonable that she be
paid for giving up what may take a considerable time from that life. If you
do not want to pay her, then please simply reject her offer politely.

I understand that we all have lives outside of forums, but we are all here voluntarily, no one makes us respond. I give as much time as I want to, and never feel that I need to be paid for the "considerable time" I give up. I do it because I like helping people, because I learn an enormous amount about computers and because I am pleased when I get to the root of a problem.

All of the above I assume most posters and responders do without expectation of monetary reward. If Diane wants to pursue a life outside this forum, more power to her. But please, don't ask me to pay for her professional time when I am on a free peer-to-peer forum.

I spend around 4-6 hrs a day answering questions for free 7 days a week and
have done so for years. Not every problem can be solved via the forum. I
offer for less than minimum wage, help for users that can't do it
themselves. There are not a lot of Entourage private consultants that can
help people. If you don't want outside help when this forum can't provide
you an answer that's OK with me, but don't judge me for offering a service.

The difference between these forums and Diane's offer to work with you
personally is that you would probably get your solution faster than
asking questions and receiving answers here over a few days. If you
don't find that of value then you don't need to accept the offer. I
agree with Ed that you can just reject her offer politely.

Like the Apple Discussions, you'll find "regulars" here who have been
answering questions for a long time (years) and will be here answering
questions long after the one-timers have gone. Diane is one of those
regulars. She doesn't offer her consulting services unless she thinks a
problem needs one-on-one assistance, which isn't often. You should lurk
for a while before you accuse anyone of trolling.

Thank you Diane for you offer of help outside the purview of this board. Unfortunately, I don't have the means to hire a private expert, so will have to depend on the kindness of others.
