cd will not install

abracad_1999

I purchased Office 2000 Pro (legitimately) in 2001 and installed it on
my then computer.

Last wekend my computer crashed and I purchased a new computer this
week.

I tried to install Office 2000 on the new computer only to be informed
the key (JHVRY-42CBV-FD378-MGJ37-89T2D) was not valid, even though I
carefully checked I typd teh correct characters.

I now find that I cannot use software that I bought and paid for. The
Microsoft site seems to require a pay a very high fee for support,
which having already paid for the software and doing nothing wrong I am
reluctant to do.

Any advice on this gratefully received.

1. NEVER post you product key. It's probably been posted on some illegal
site on the other side of the world by now.

2. You need to check the characters VERY carefully. Bs and 8s look a lot
like, so do Ds, Os, and 0s.

3. Try telephone activation and talk to a human being.

"I typd teh correct characters" With these typos, are you sure?

Now that you published your key to this newsgroup (I've x'd it out in my
reply),
it will propogate to hundreds of newsgroups all over the internet for
eternity, for anyone to use.

Now that you have hosed it:
