Cell format to show integers and decimals

My original idea didn't work, can *this* be done with a cell
numberformat? I want to display numbers with two decimal places unless
the number is an integer i.e.

876 is displayed as 876
234.56 is diplayed as 234.56

Is it possible?

It will display this way when set to General.
