WHY IS MY CELL FORMAT AT WORK DISPLAYED PROPERLY
AS

-1,500.OO IS DISPLAYED AS (1,500.00)


AND WHEN i DO IT AT HOME Ii CANNOT GET

THE CLOSEST I GOT IS -1,500.00

is there a diffence between the formatting cell options

between Excel's programs..

Hi Bumpa!

Excel takes it from your Windows Regional options.

Use:

Start > Settings > Control Panel > Regional options
Change the negative number format

You'll find that you now have () options.

In win98:
Windows Start Button|Settings|Control Panel|Regional settings Applet
On the currency tab, change the negative number format.

(one tab deeper <bg>.)

Hi Dave!

Actually the commands are slightly different for Windows XP

Start > Control Panel > Regional and language options > Customize
button > Currency tab

I suppose that we ought to get used to the change from other operating
systems. And no doubt Mac is completely different as you would expect
from any "Job(s) lot" <gdr>
