cell protection

Is there a way to protect a portion of a worksheet so
other users can not change it. I want to be able to allow
them to fill in the answers to my questions and not
change the area of where I have inserted the questions.
Thanks again for all the great help!!

You can unlock particular cells and protect the entire worksheet. You can't do
the reverse.

all cells are locked by default so right click and unlock the cells
desired>protect sheet.

I must be confused, I use Excel 2002 @ home and I have
2003 at work. I notice an option to allow a user to
modify ranges under protection but, it looks like it
wants me to add those users.
Thanks again for your support!

I figured it out. First you prepare your worksheet, then
highlight the cells you want the user to edit. Go to
tools, go to protection. Select, allow users to edit
pages, select new, select range. The range will be there
because you highlighted the cells. Select apply then go
back to tools and protect the whole worksheet. Try it and
let me know.
Thanks

I understand now what you are saying and I was able to
protect certain cells.
Thanks
