center across

I think you need "Merge cells" rather than "Center across". If the cells
are merged you can justify the text however you want.

Hi
for what would you need this? Just type your text and it should
automatically write over the right border?

If it's text, can't you just enter the value in the leftmost cell and let it
overflow to the right?

Hi Frank,
Older Excel version would not let you insert or delete columns if you used
merge. That was inconvinient compared to center across. However center across
only centers the text and would not let you choose the justification.

But then I noticed that Excel 2003 will let you merge the cells and also
allow inserting columns as well as choose justification! That solves my
problem

Thank you all with this question

Hi Frank,
Older version of Excel would not let you insert or delete the columns when
cells are merged. Center across does that but does not allow you to choose
justification.
However, I noticed that Excel 2003 merge lets you insert/delete columns and
still allowing you to choose the justification. That solved my problem
Thanks you all with this one

OK, but think twice before you come back asking for solutions to the new
problems you have created by merging the cells <g>.
