Centering Checkbox Under Label

Can I please get a simple answer as to how to center a checkbox under
a label? The only answer I found said something about a large handle
on the control, but I have no idea what that means. When I click on
the control, the only thing I'm seeing is the crosshairs. The answers
I found in other forums are even less clear. Why did MS go out of
it's way to make formatting reports more difficult?

If you generated the label along with the checkbox using the wizard, then in
design view (the cutesy name, "backstage view", is used in more recent
versions) , click on the checkbox and drag it where you want it to appear,
which can be beneath the label.

You did not mention design or backstage view -- were you trying to design
your report in report view?

I can't imagine anyone with more than trivial exposure to Access not being
able to move a control in this manner... perhaps a beginner level self-study
book, or a visit to the http://office.microsoft.com website and look under
"Learning Resources", "Help by Product", "Access".

Generally, we would direct you to the (non-existent) newsgroup,
psychics.access, for questions on "why" Microsoft made some design decision.
We are just part of the Great Access Unwashed and not privy to any
unpublished information on Microsoft design decisions.

However, in this case I think I can answer: They did not make formatting
reports more difficult. I've been using various report generators on
mainframes, minicomputers, and micros since the 1960s, and have found none
that are easier than Microsoft Access reports. I have friends who are
expert in using both Access reports and Crystal reports who tell me they
much prefer Access reports. I think your frustration that Access reports
doesn't work the way you'd like is showing. If not, please tell me "more
difficult than _what_".
