Certificate warning problem

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: Exchange Entourage 2008 EWS with Exchange 2007 SP2 Rollup 1. Root certificate is installed on client in 'login' and 'x509' anchors but still getting 'root certificate not installed error.'

We have autodiscover setup, and externally this warning doesn't appear but internally pops up every time entourage starts.

Digicert verified certs are installed correctly, autodiscover works...just as a lost to why it still prompts?

Thanks.

There are several possibilities there:
- The certificate is not the root certificate, but, for instance, the
ssl certificate or some other certificate. In this case the solution is
simple: it the proper certificate needs to be installed.
- The certificate is expired or there is an IP mismatch: you need to
get the certificate corrected and to install the new one.

Can you connect through Safari (I insist on Safari) through WebMail??
(If it is the same server, do you get a warning? (if not, try to use
the address as the server straight in Safari to see if it can connect.
I don’t care if there is nothing to display there, it's just the SSL
warning I am interested in).

Hello Corentin,

No SSL warnings using Safari, shows certificate is valid when I click on the security icon. Certificate shows Entrust.net Secure Server Certification Authority -> DigiCert High Assurance EV Root CA -> DigiCert High Assurance CA-3 -> 'webmail.acme.com'

Puzzling thing is, if this helps with any clues; the error says domain 'acme.com' is unsecure but not webmail.acme.com that is used in Entourage EWS account settings.

Further suggestions?

Thanks,

Bump... same issue on Entourage Macs using EWS or IMAP/WebDAV also using a
SAN cert through Digicert. No warnings in Safari.

What's your OWA URL? I am not able to resolve webmail.acme.com

Hello Corentin,

Hi Tom,
No SSL warnings using Safari, shows certificate is valid when I click
on the security icon. Certificate shows Entrust.net Secure Server
Certification Authority -> DigiCert High Assurance EV Root CA ->
DigiCert High Assurance CA-3 -> 'webmail.acme.com'

Puzzling thing is, if this helps with any clues; the error says domain
'acme.com' is unsecure but not webmail.acme.com that is used in
Entourage EWS account settings.

You might bet redirected to a different server at some point and the
final ending point might not be providing a good cert.
The only option I can think of really is to import the root cert.
