Change background color on text pages in Office Live Beta

Using Office Live Beta to set up my web page.

I have tried unsuccessfully to change the background color of the text pages
I have written. I have gone to edit, selected the background color I want,
clicked OK, saved the page . . . no changes result. I have also tried
selecting all of the text on the page with the same result (no change).
