Change border color of a row in word table

Hi,
How to access the individual rows in word table where the table has
vertically merged cells?I am try to change border color of a row which is
present in verticaaly merged cells but it is giving exception something
cannot change as it is in vertically merged cells.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
