Change default black background when saving powerpoint to html

I tried Googling for this and can't find any mention of this problem on the
InterWeb ...

I'm saving a Powerpoint presentation to HTML so that I can embed it in a
SharePoint Web Part. But every time I do, the HTML version of the PowerPoint
presentation is framed with a black background, where I want a white
background.

I've noticed that in a single page presentation, the black background isn't
automatically applied, only in multi-page presentations.

Of course, I can go into the resulting HTML code and change the background
attribute to white. But I'm creating a business process so the rest of
company can create HTML versions of their PowerPoint presentations and
publish them to SharePoint and I really, really need to find a way for my
colleagues to eliminate the default black background by tweaking PowerPoint
settings as they are not HTML coders.

So ... any suggestions?

Hi, Steve,

Thanks for the speedy reply ... I'm using PowerPoint 2007.

Your solution won't work for me because I don't want to have the PowerPoint
Navigation Controls showing. The idea is to use embedded hyperlinks in the PP
pages to navigate around the document, because I'm going to pull this into a
SharePoint page using a Web Part.

UNLESS - you're saying that I should enable the PowerPoint Nav Controls,
change the view to Black Text on white Background, then switch off the Nav
Controls again ... not sure that'll work, but I can give it a try.

Otherwise, I'm thinking maybe there just isn't an option in MSPP-2007 to get
rid of the default black (what were they thinking of ... black?) background
on generated HTML pages.

I'll investigate the apps you recommend, but unless I can solve the
PowerPoint problem, I suspect I'll still have the black backgrounds ...

Steve!

You genius -- it worked!

I re-ticked the "Add slide navigation controls" checkbox, changed the
"Colors" picklist item to "Black text on White", then unchecked the box again
and output the presentation to HTML. It worked just fine.

Thank you.

I think this should be documented somewhere so it can be found via Google so
save the stress for other PowerPoint techie users ...

Best,

Mr A

Funny ... right after posting the suggestion, the same question occurred to me.
What if you don't want nav controls? Thanks for coming back with the answer.
