Change default template (blank) for 2007

Simon Minder

Hi all,

How can I change the default template in PP2007 so that when I start
PowerPoint it
automatically selects my custom design template rather than the blank
presentation?

I found a solution for the previous versions, but not for 2007.

Kind regards,

Simon

Simon,
On the design tab in the ribbon, in the themes group, right click your
design and choose the option to make it your default in the menu. If you
don't see it right away, click on the more button, custom made themes are
listed at the top of the pane.

Right-clicking my design within the themes group of the Design tab offers the following options:
- Apply to Matching Slides
- Apply to All Slides
- Apply to Selected Slides
- Add Gallery to Quick Access Toolbar
It does not offer "Make Default"

What might I be doing wrong?

David,
Should work, when I right-click I get the following options:
4 options if I right-click a built-in theme
Apply to All Slides
Apply to Selected Slides
Set as Default Theme
Add Gallery to Quick Access Toolbar

If I right-click on a custom made theme I get 5 options
Apply to All Slides
Apply to Selected Slides
Delete
Set as Default Theme
Add Gallery to Quick Access Toolbar
Maybe read this article and try the suggested first method:

You might be clicking on the first "theme" which is the current setting. You
need to right click on one of the others.

Before you can see the "Set as default" option in your theme, first find the theme which is being used as default currently. you should see the option in that theme. Uncheck the tick from that theme first. Now again right click on your theme, the "Set as Default" should now be available on your theme.
Pls let me know if that works.
:)
