change distribution list to all be contacts?

How can I change all the members I have in a distribution list to all become
individual contacts so I can enter all their information like address, etc.

You can't.
You would have to save the DL as a text file, clean it up, define the
fields, then import it as a CSV file into your Contacts Folder.
