change file extension bmp to jpg

[*.bmp to *.jpg]

How can I change the file type or extension.

Open the *.bmp file and then Save As or Export to the *.jpg format.

Open the image in Paint click 'save as' and select whatever file type
you wish to save it as by by clicking the arrow to open the file
types.

Never tried in in Paint myself (Start/ All Programmes/ Accessories...
Paint is about halfway down) as I use Paintshop pro, no reason why it
shouldn't work.
