I like to read my mail with the Reading Pane, and I like to read it in
the order I received it—oldest to newest. However, when I select a mail
folder, Outlook automatically focuses on the newest message and displays
it in the Reading Pane—and marks it read as soon as I go to the oldest
message.
I don't want to have to manually mark the newest message as unread each
time I read mail in a folder, and I don't want to turn off the
mark-as-read-when-the-selection-changes option either.
Is there some way to get Outlook to either (a) select the oldest message
when you select a folder, or (b) not select any message when you open
the folder, thus leaving the Reading Pane blank?
