Change Language?()I got RIPPED OFF), Please Read

Chris Coleman

Hi, My name is Chris. Surfing about a week ago, I came across an ad for
someone selling Frontpage 2003 (which I need for school) for $45. I knew
this was much less than the retail, so I bought it. Little did I know I was
purchasing a non-english version. I believe it is German. Is there any way
to change the language in the program? I tried going into the Options and
changing a menu that had a bunch of languages to English, although I think it
is the encoding. I also used the bundled Office SETLANG.EXE and it didn't do
anything. I also tried replacing the FPCUTL.DLL file with an english one, no
luck. My locale is also set to USA English. What can I do???

Sorry, Chris. You did get ripped off. Nothing you can do except accept
your loss.

But, you didn't tell us where this "ad" was...and, whether you contacted
them about it after the fact.

You do get what you pay for, unfortunately.

There is basically nothing you can do. What you got what a pirated OEM
copy. You are lucky you did not get the Chinese version - which is not a
joke, it is also out there.

Seems like the fact that it was $45 should have been a clue.

Here's what you can do: Learn from your mistakes.
I knew this was much less than the retail, so I bought it.

The next time you see something much less than retail, the first thing you
should do is ask yourself why.
Surfing about a week ago,

And surfing is a bad idea. The Internet is not a playground. It's more like
Alphabet City.

If he bought it with a credit card, maybe he can return the goods and get
credit. It may not be worth the trouble but he might want to contact credit
card company. If he believes goods are pirated, he .might be able to file
complaints.
