Change Owner of an assignment

T

Thea

Hi,
I always thought the updates from team members for the project leader always
are forwarded to the owner of a project plan. No I had to find out that it is
the person who assigend a ressource to a task that gets the update.
I made some changes in someone else plan and I also changed a local resource
to an enterprise Ressource. But now I get the updates. Is there a better way
to change this than deleting the ressource from all tasks and assign them
again?
Thanks
Thea

Thea:

Simply have the person who should be receiving the updates open the project,
select the tasks, click collaborate, republish assignments. In the resulting
dialog, select "selected tasks" in the picklist and select the checkbox at
the bottom of the dialog to become the manager of theses tasks. That
transfers the ownership to the person republishing.

Thanks Gary,
I'll try it as soon as my collegue is available.
But this means that the one who publishes new assigenments gets the updates?
If I would change some tasks, but no resources, and publish this tasks again,
would I also get the updates now, or does it only works when the ressource
assigenment was changed?

The system assigns the user who first publishes the task as the task owner.
This allows multiple managers to co-manage a single project. The republish
function easily changes the ownership of the tasks. It also transfers any
pending updates. So when you're stepping in to adjust another PM's plan, you
need to make sure that the other PM republishes when they get back to the
office.
