change ownership of tasks

I use MS Project 2003 and PS 2003. I used to be the PM on a project schedule
so all resource updates come to me for approval in PWA. I'm no longer the PM
on this project so the new PM needs to take ownership of the tasks. The new
PM has not taken ownership of the tasks so the update requests still come to
me.

I'm also an Admin for the PS/PWA. Is there a way that ownership for the
tasks can be transferred to him....in a way other than him going into the
project schedule and re-publishing and taking ownership (which he seems
challenged to do)?

Thanks Robert. The process you directed me to tells me how to transfer
ownership of tasks from someone else to me. I need to transfer ownership from
me to someone else....in a a way other than the other PM going into the
project schedule and re-publishing and taking ownership (which he seems
challenged to do)?

Jesse,

If I understand you correctly, you are saying that you simply wish to
change the Project Manager of the project to someone else. To do this,
go to the project center in PWA. Click next to the project that you
want to switch the project manager for, so the row is highlighted.
Click the Edit button in the tool bar and change the owner to whoever
the project manager should be. This will send all updates to that
person. I hope this helps.

Thanks Robert. The Project Owner is used for security purposes...it doesn't
determine the task ownership and who will get the updates. The owner of the
task is identified as the Project Manager of that task. You need to be the
Project Manager of a task to have update requests sent to you. There can be
only 1 Project Owner but there could be multiple Project Managers on a
project. The Project Manager doesn't have to be a Project Manager of a
task....and a Project Manager of a task doesn't have to be the Project Owner.

The other PM finally did take ownership of the tasks so my problem is
resolved now. I was hoping to find a trick method that I could transfer
ownership of a task to a different PM without intervention from the other PM.
Thanks for the help though!
