Change resource working time for a specific project (Project Serve

Hello,

we need to set a resource to only work for one (1) day per week on a
specific project (because we want to book the rest 4 days to work in another
project).

[At the Enterprise Pool level, the resource is correctly setup to work five
(5) days per week]

Is there any way we can achieve this?

Thanks in advance, YP

There is no easy way to address this scheduling situation. The simplest
solution would be to assign the resource to tasks in the first project at no
more than 20% Units on any task, which simulates the resource working
approximately 1 day out of each 5-day work week. This consumes 20% of the
resource's availability in the Project Server 2007, by the way. On the
second project, I would assign the resource at no more than 80% Units on any
task, which simulates the resource working approximately 4 days out of each
5-day work week. This consumes the other 80% of the resource's availability
in Project Server 2007, and shows the resource fully utilized during the
time periods during which the two projects overlap. Hope this helps.

Hi,

Providing you have authority to defien new base calendars, do as follows:
In the special project, define a working calendar 1 day per week
Select all the tasks this resource is to work on
Click Task Information, Advacnced tab
Set the new base calendar as task calendar, check "Scheduling ignores
resource calendars"

If one of these tasks has more than one resoruce attached you may be in
trouble, but if not, this is the (only) way

Thanks Jan. I did follow the steps and managed to schedule the project. For
reference, I created a new 'Enterprise Calendar' and then assigned it to the
selected tasks.
