Change slide design in Powerpoint 2000

Hello, this is very frustrating. Is there a way to apply slide designs to
different slides? because when ever I apply a design template, every slide
looks the same. What do I do?

The multiple master capability for PPT doesn't appear until v2002. Here are
a couple of work arounds:

1) Keeping your various template separate as individual PPTs. Use action
buttons to link between PPTs.
2) Save all but the "main" presentation presentation shows (PPS). Place a
blank slide in your main presentation where you would want your "PPS 1" to
begin. Select Insert > Object > Create from File. After the PPS is inserted,
resize it to fit the slide. Now your PPS 1 will show in its entirety when you
play the main PPT. Repeat for subsequent PPS (containing different templates).
