Change Template Background Color

Diana,

I am assuming that you have already downloaded the template. I will give
instructions using Word 2007, but they should be pretty easily applied to an
older version. I am also assuming Windows XP.

Step One, Open the Template:

1. Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\[UserName]\Application
Data\Microsoft\Templates.
2. Right-click 2007 weekly calendar.dot and click "Open" (not "New").
3. If for some reason the template is not there, search for "2007 weekly
calendar.dot" and open from the search window.

Step two, adjust the template:

1. As you are getting rid of the blue, you will need to change the color of
the table borders (probably). To do that, select the table cells in the
calendar, right click, select "borders and shading" then change the borders
to a different color and, if desired, style.
2. The blueness is actually a picture embedded in the file. You can select
it by clicking just below the calendar. To make the background white, simply
delete the picture. You can also mess around with the colors on the "Format"
tab (change brightness/contrast, recolor, etc).
3. If you want to, delete or alter the picture behind the "current month" at
the bottom of the page.
4. You will need to repeat this process for each "week" on the file.
5. Save the file.

Now, when you create a new file based on this template (by simply
double-click the file instead of right-clicking then selecting 'Open') the
new look will be present.

I hope this was helpful,
Doug
