Change the File Open option in Excel

I am wondering if there is a way to change the folders that come up in
the side of the dialog box when you are trying to open a file in
excel. The ones that come up in mine are: History, My Documents,
Desktop, Favorites and My Network Places

I would like to tweak it so that I can change those to drive paths.

Any ideas?

If using Excel 2002 or 2003 you can add/remove places from the "My Places".

In the Open dialog, navigate to the folder you wish to add to the
left side pane. Then, choose the Tools dropdown and select "Add
to My Places".

To remove, just right-click on one of the "places" and "Remove".

For Excel 2000 and earlier you will need the Places.com add-on.

I don't think so, but xl97's File|open, File|SaveAs dialog even looked
different--IIRC. I don't recall that they had a left hand side "frame".

Excel 97 does not have a Places frame.

My poor memory.

I finally fired up 97 to check. Not there.
